This trailer dolly does the job. Most of my 'cons' are with the assembly.

We have a small (5'x8') utility trailer that weighs 400 lbs w/ 13" wheels. The trailer isn't hard to move at all, for a few feet, but to get to our storage barn we have to either roll it over 150' uneven ground or take a shorter route up some terraced 4" steps made from bricks & landscaping timbers. One wheel on the steps, the other on the grassy slope next to them. That's a lot of tugging and pulling while bent over for a couple ofmiddle-aged office workers with bad backs. We bought this dolly today, and it did the trick.

I didn't think we would be able to use it to get the trailer up those steps, but... we did.The dolly was stable. The trailer and dolly stayed connected (largely a credit to having the right-sized ball and a good coupler, but I was concerned that with all the twisting and pulling, they would go separate ways).

It is easy to maneuver, especially in tight quarters in the barn.It is also stable when you set it down on the leg brace and let go of the handle. You could conceivably store it that way if the wheels were chocked.

The tires, mounted on one-piece metal rims, appear to be tall enough and beefy enough for the purpose.

The assembly instructions were weak though. While accurate, they were VERY brief. To a fault. They could benefit from some clarity. One tire was flat out of the box. I re-inflated it, and I'm hoping it will hold pressure.

The other thing that keeps me from giving it more stars is the connection between the axle assembly and the handle. If the handle were but a few inches longer it could have inserted directly into a socket on the axle assembly, making a nice solid connection.Instead there's a piece of channel stock that acts as a bridge. It bolts to the socket and the handle bolts to it.I suppose it will withstand the advertised weight capacities, but it's just another example of taking design shortcuts. It's epidemic these days.

On the plus side, the axle assembly and the framework that supports the ball are all one piece, welded. No bolted joints there.

Bottom line, we're glad we got it, and it looks like it will hold up (again, we have a relatively small trailer). After reading many reviews of different dollies, I was worried about stability, tires coming off rims, or rims breaking.Didn't happen and I don't think it will.I suspect those steps were about as much of a challenge as any dolly is likely to see.

(Truth in advertising-- we bought this from our local U-Haul store, not from Amazon.)
